The Philadelphia Tribune’s Maya Earls sat down with Dr. Stephen Klasko, Jefferson’s President and CEO, and Joseph Hill, Jefferson’s Chief Diversity Officer, after a recent fireside chat at Jefferson with civil rights champion, Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian.
The two recalled Vivian’s visit, which saluted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision and gave students, staff and the Jefferson community the opportunity to hear directly from the history-maker. Vivian’s message stressed the importance of nonviolent, direct action in affecting change.
In the interview with The Tribune, Dr. Klasko said, “There aren’t too many people who can tell these stories. For me, it’s great that Jefferson has the opportunity to bring in these amazing inspirations.”
